HYA & CIT

HYALURONIC ACID & DERMAROLLER®

THE IDEAL COMBINATION

Fillers, mainly those from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), are quite popular due to the fact that they have none or only minor side effects. In order to “lift” or “upholster” lager skin areas for fine wrinkle removal, so-called “non-stabilised” (low viscosity) HA is injected. The advantage is that it has an IMMEDITATE-EFFECT. The disadvantage of low viscosity HA is that it is quickly absorbed by the metabolism and the upholstering effect disappears within 2 to 4 months – quite a costly experience of the years.

Deeper wrinkles, such as the nasolabial fold, are “filled” and lifted with “cross-linked” HA. This kind of HA has a higher viscosity that is much more difficult to inject, and therefore cannot upholster lager skin areas evenly. In deep wrinkles it brings a visible “filing” effect for several months since it takes longer to be absorbed by the body. Naturally, this HA-type is more expensive. Hyaluronic Acid, non-stabilised and cross-linked, stimulates neo-collagenesis (new collagen formation) up to about 50%. Both HA-types are injected into the dermis with hypodermic needles. The injection points are several millimetres apart so that a skin area of one square centimetre (1 cm2) has about 3 to 4 punctures. If no numbing cream is used, HA-fillers are painful. As thin and small a hypodermic needles may be their tips are formed by 2 cutting edges that cause a lesion that heals in form of a scar, as tiny as it may be.

The CIT (see: Collagen-Induction-Therapy) also induces new collagen formation, but on a higher level with 200% in average, in many cases more, only in some cases less. The fine (non-traumatic) micro-needles of the Dermaroller® do NOT cause any scars (fibrotic tissue). A CIT brings longs lasting results, and it takes several weeks, often months, until the new collagen formation has matured and has settled into the skin matrix, about 0.6 mm deep. The CIT has a LONGTERM-EFFECT for years.

CONCLUSION: Combine both EFFECTS

How does it work? Dr Martin Schwarz, a plastic surgeon, and the dermato-pathologist Dr Laaff, both from Germany, presented a study in 2011 with histological proof that the needles of the Dermaroller® transport cross-linked HA perfectly right into the dermis layers where new collagen formation ideally settles: 0,6 mm deep (provided, the right Dermaroller®-needles with a special surface are used). During a CIT the Dermaroller® sets about 200 infiltration channels per cm2, while a hypodermic needle sets only 3 to 4 per cm2. Therefore, an evenly infiltrated cross-linked HA produces a much better and much more lasting result.

Comparison between a hypodermic needle with cutting edges and a non-traumatic Dermaroller® Microneedle

The procedure: After a numbing cream (preferable LMX4® or DOLOCUPIN®) was applied and removed after 25 to 30 minutes, cross-linked HA is applied on the skin and infiltrated into the deeper dermis with the Dermaroller®. A facial CIT session takes about 30 minutes. After the session we recommend to us the hyaluronic-acid Dermaroller® COOL-MASK for skin soothing and redness reduction. To support the CIT results, use the Home-Care-Dermaroller® about 3 times a week with a COOL-MASK follow-up.

Procedure intervals: On aged and especially on severely sun-damaged dermis, the Combination procedure (HA & CIT) may be repeated after 3 months. A follow-up-treatment should be performed after 9 - 12 months or later.

Who can perform this procedure? Only medical professionals! Although both therapies (HA & CIT) are aimed to improve skin texture with a so-called cosmetic aspect, they are medical procedures. There is no civilised legislation that allows beauticians to perform such procedures!

Ask your doctor for this new treatment concept: HA & CIT!

Also ask her/him if she/he also uses the Original Dermaroller and Original Fillers (such as Allergan, Restylane. MERZ-Filler and other quality products with CE mark). Ask your doctor if his/her Filler and his Dermaroller® have a Product-Liability-Insurance – if not, stay away!

BEWARE OF COPIES!!!

Ask your doctor for original, approved HA. There are numerous HA-copies on the market. Many are not approved and from dubious quality and origin. They are often not purified, not sterile and bacteria / virus contaminated. They are offered at extreme low prices, but they can result in extreme ever lasting skin disfigurement with high chances of skin cancer and other severe inflammatory reactions. DON’T TOUCH THEM!!!

The same applies for Dermaroller® Copies! Many rollers, mainly from China and Korea, use the term Dermaroller or Derma-Roller. They are offered over the Internet at prices just as low as 5 US$ (Lotus Roller, DTS-Roller, Meso-Roller, Miracle Skin Roller, Doc-Roller, etc.). Some manufacturers offer hundreds of needles on their devices, but all this is nonsense. (See what happened in Hong Kong: http://dermaroller.wordpress.com/

Keep in mind: If you want to pay with peanuts, do not be surprised to be served by a monkey.
